The Village of Schuylerville Board of Trustees completed their Public Hearing for residents to be informed about the Village Dissolution Vote on March 15, 2010. As usual, the Village Board did not publicize the Public Hearing so residents were aware of the meeting and only a handful of residents attended. The majority that did attend were residents that live outside the Village of Schuylerville. But the Village Board sure did spend a ton of money making copies on hard stock paper - which was a waste of money and shows their inability to be fiscally prudent. I was not appreciative of listening to the very long speech of the Mayor of Seneca Falls who has to suck it up because her residents choose to dissolve the Village of Seneca Falls. There is nothing I heard at this Public Hearing that would change my mind. Village Dissolution is the only Solution in our fiscally troubled times. I am ready for less government and I keep seeing people run and get elected with no competition because there are no other residents that want to get involved in Village Government. I am tired of my hard earned money paying taxes which essentially has me being an employer of Village employees where we have no say in how our Village is run and I am tired of uneducated elected officials making very, very bad decisions regarding how this Village is to be maintained - which, by the way, it has not and why there are structurally sensitive areas in our infrastructure. It's time for one government - the Town of Saratoga and Schuylerville is not the most historic village in NYS. There are plenty of other villages that share that claim to fame as well. It's time for Village Dissolution.
